Nothing Beats New Supplies!

One of the best things about when my friends and me get together to scrapbook is trying out new products. We were talking recently about the new things that Santa brought us (or that we bought for ourselves during those post-holiday sales!)

I’m excited to have gotten an Ott Lite for Christmas!  I know, I’m a bit behind here…scrapbookers, sewers, and crafters alike have had Ott Lites for years! While I thought they were “neat,” I never thought of myself as needing one.  I have been able to “get by” with the lighting that’s available, or by borrowing a light from a friend.  But now that I have one, it’s really one of those ‘How did I craft without this?’ moments (you know, like when you first started using a Xyron sticker maker instead of using glue stick for the back of your lettering).  I like the ability to store things around the base of it too.  (I always need more space to stash my ever-growing collection of washi tape!)

Jen received a Cricut Expressions machine for Christmas.  She’s really looking forward to planning layouts on it, and using it connected to her computer. Having the ability to cut on full-sized 12”x12” paper will be great! The possibilities are endless! (Jen will be bringing it with her for everyone to try out at our crop!)

Emily received a super-cute Thirty-One bag from her sister, filled with goodies!  Emily loves that the bag is just the right size for those little crafting essentials.  She also got a neat little flower punch she’s planning on using in her card-making.  She’s going to punch paper in different shades of one color and layer them to add dimension.  And some little chalkboard labels she received will be the perfect addition to a layout or any craft project!

On a recent shopping trip the four of us had together we purchased supplies that will be part of your welcome kit when you attend our crop.  Gigi’s really looking forward to diving into the new papers and embellishments and getting started on her inspiration board!  She’s also got her eye on a larger Xyron machine, for all those little pieces that are too big for the smaller sticker maker, but not big enough to use the tape runner on.

We are all feeling just a wee bit VERY excited for our upcoming crop and having the opportunity to use our new things! We hope you will join us!
